The company was founded in 2001 as a subsidiary of P&O Princess Cruises. The company started its activities to serve the German cruise market. AIDA Cruises company served in the German cruise market together with the A'Rosa company with its fleet. AIDA Cruises company was also acquired by P&O Princess Cruises company in 1999. A'Rosa company generally operates by taking the model of AIDA company and started its service life with 3 river ships. The ship A'Rosa Blu was the fleet's only cruise ship.
