Corona Virus Incident on Italian Cruise Ship
After a Chinese woman fell ill due to a suspected case of coronavirus, an Italian cruise ship with 7,000 people is kept on the shore. The ship is believed to have carried around 6,000 passengers, along with about 1,000 crew members. Of these, 751 started in Savona, 371 of which were in Chinese. The owner of the ship, Costa Crociere, confirmed that the ship was locked. Costa Smeralda is a brand new ship launched in December last year and traveling around the Mediterranean. It is currently the last day of a trip that started in Civitavecchia on January 23 before stopping in La Spezia, Savona, Marseille, Barcelona, and Mallorca. He was in the process of approaching Civitavecchia when the ship was stopped. The couple is thought to board Savona on January 25 because they flew from Hong Kong to Milan's international airport on the same day. Eren Budaklı, the officer of the Nautica Goods, said that the situation is under control and there is no reason for concern at the moment, according to the Costa Crociere company statement.
