ITU Naval Architecture and Marine Sciences Faculty Alumni Association
The association continues to improve itself with the importance of being together. ITU-GIMDER, which rises and grows in spiritual as well as corporate values with every activity, is inspired by the student life on which their roots are based and from the business life in which they have all kinds of experiences. Also, ITU Naval Architecture and Marine Sciences Faculty Alumni Association shape what they do and what they will do in the future. History of ITU Naval Architecture and Marine Sciences Faculty Alumni Association This association seems to have been established in 2014 according to official records. However, realistically, it has its roots in the Naval Engineering Club, which has operated since 2001. In 2001, the Naval Engineering Club was established by the ITU Faculty of Naval Architecture and Marine Sciences. Since its establishment, the club has taken on basic issues such as strengthening the communication between faculty students and enabling students to realize themselves by doing professional and social activities. Founded on January 6, 2014, the ITU Naval Architecture and Marine Sciences Faculty Alumni Association aimed to develop the dialogues between graduates of the faculty. Besides, it is required to strengthen the ties that exist between graduates. In 2016, he participated in Koç University Maritime Forum as one of the shareholders to be effective in other coöperation activities. In the same year, he became a member of the Shipping Federation of Turkey.
Activities of the Association
Dermek organizes "Career Days" every year to help its students find the career direction they can choose. Thanks to this organization held at the faculty, students have the opportunity to come together with other colleagues and take part in informative conversations. ITU-GIMDER supplied different ship elements. He donated these to ITU Faculty of Shipbuilding and Marine Sciences to show. In this way, it is ensured that theoretical knowledge is turned into practice.
The association has developed a mobile application. Thanks to this application, it has been possible to reach more than a thousand users. The application includes a lot of information, from unit changes to a glossary of terms that may be necessary for a shipbuilding engineer. Knowing to create value in a short time with its activities, ITU Naval Architecture and Marine Sciences Faculty Alumni Association want to continue to carry the names of ITU Shipbuilding and Marine Sciences Faculty Graduates to new fields in line with its vision. In line with this request, it continues various activities to reach its goal.
