Navigation Lights

Navigation Lights

Visibility is very limited when motorized or non-motorized boats travel at night. In such cases, there are extremely important navigation lights that the boats are obliged to carry with them. Thanks to these lighthouses, boats can watch their lives safely in places where their visibility is limited without compromising the lives of other boats. As we have emphasized before, boats are required to carry these lanterns with them. It is imperative that they not only carry them with them but also to light these lanterns between sunset and sunrise. Navigation lights that boats of different sizes and types are obliged to carry are as follows;

Onboard lanterns: There are cruise lanterns on the starboard and pier board of the boat that can be seen from the bow at 112.5 degrees sectors.

Silicon flashlight: It is a white flashlight that can be seen from the 225-degree sector and where both broadside lamps on the bow appear.

Pupa flashlight: It is a white flashlight in the pupa that can be seen from the 135-degree sector where the silicon flashlight cannot be seen. Backup flashlight: These yellow flashlights are lanterns that can see 135 degrees of the sector from the full pupa. It is usually shown during backup.

360-degree flashlights: These flashlights are often used for different purposes, such as warning and service indication. They are white, red, green or yellow colored lanterns that can see all directions over the horizon line.

While the boats are anchored, they have to show the white lighthouse that can be easily seen from all sides. Navigation lights are aids that play an important role in the prevention of many accidents at sea.
